Stereotyping Final Fantasy

Is it just me or do other people have a hard time with the Final Fantasy stereotype? I can confidentially predict the following for any FF game:

1) Lead Man

• blond
• a loner due to a past tragedy he doesn't want to talk about
• will be swayed into showing his past by the leading lady

2) Lead Woman

• delicate - yet strong
• weak cos she doubts her own abilities and is in constant turmoil
• almost instantly falls in love with lead man, but won't admit it cos she's scared

3) Power Woman

• seasoned fighter
• definitive grudge
• often works for the resistance, but with her own personal goals
• kicks butt with raw anger
• has a tendency to wear tight black leather clothing and be over-endowed

Now this in itself isn't a huge issue, but it's those blond lead characters that do my head in ... they all look the same ... gaaah, I know, I know, but every time I see the next FF game I get thoroughly confused. I never know if I'm looking at a new blond character or an old blond character re-rendered on a new graphics engine.

I might be dumb but come on.
